Op/Tech Pro Nikon D90 Camera Strap

This is the first aftermarket strap that I have ever tried and on my D90 I love it! I wish I would have purchased this long ago. It feels so much better then the one's that Nikon gives you with their cameras you won't believe it! Anyway I like this OP/Tech Camera strap so much I thought I'd share. For me I like the fact it's allows me more room to strap it over my neck and through one arm to shoot the way I like. Also it's very comfortable around your neck. It's pretty cool looking also if that matters! So what kind of strap are you using?

I was given this strap as a gift about a week before buying my D90. I had a D40 at the time and used it on that until the D90 arrived. So I've never used any other strap on my D90 and I agree it's wonderful, so very comfortable.

Hey, thanks so much for creating this blog so I can learn more about my D90. Currently, I'm using just the strap that comes with the kit. But I do like the idea of strapping the camera over the neck and through the arm. I'll have to keep this strap in mind.

I've been thinking about getting a hand strap. I was wondered if it would help provide just a little bit more stability which would result in more frequent crisp photos. Do you have any thoughts or maybe posted about hand straps in the past? I'm a newbie at following your blog and haven't had a chance to make it through all your posts yet.

Lew, Kristen, Thanks for the comments. Kristen, no posts on this blog about the D90 hand grip but when I got my first camera I really wanted that thing. But I never did get one. Hopefully someone reading this might chime in if they own one and tell us about it.

Picked up a Rapid Strap the other week and I'll never go back to a conventional strap. Next time you're in a store try one out - or ask someone you see using one, I'm sure they'll be as excited about it as I am. www.blackrapid.com

Kristen; I've used grip straps before - they work well for some situations, but they won't do much to improve the sharpness of the photo. Your hand can get really sweaty too..ewe. To help with camera shake hold it tight against your face, support the lens with your left palm (facing up) and lock your elbows into your side. Breath like a sniper and squeeze (don't push) the trigger. Taking multiple shots helps to as the 2nd or 3rd is usually sharper then the first.

Hello,
I use the Crumpler: The Industry Disgrace strap instead. It's really well made a very comfortable for those with heavy glass. I used it on my 14 day trip to yellowstone and South West as well as touring the Greek Islands. My neck was never sore and made traveling with my Nikon a delight. Lose the Nikon strap and you'll be MUCH happier.

I too have the Crumpler Industry Disgrace strap. Really like it. Distributes the weight well. Works good over shoulde or neck. The Nikon strap hurt my neck. Money well spent upgrade, no fun to take pics if camera strap causing discomfort.
